Sadly, one in five adults in the United States can barely read. Research has shown that when you invest $1 dollar in teaching an adult to read $33 is returned back into your community. That’s because adults who can read and write earn more wages to support their families, they teach their children good reading habits, and they contribute to their communities as taxpayers, and are good citizens.

The Hoosier Hills Literacy League spends approximately $26 a year for each preschooler enrolled in the Imagination
Library. A high quality age appropriate book is mailed to their home each month. Would you consider sponsoring a child? At this time 800 children in Dearborn County are enrolled.
